Answers to common questions, and how to reach us when they don’t cover it.
Getting set up
How do I start monitoring a domain?
Add it from Domains, then publish the DMARC record we give you at your DNS provider. Or add one CNAME instead and we host the record for you. Owners and admins of an organization can add domains.
I've published the record. Why can't I see anything yet?
Email providers send DMARC reports once a day about mail that claimed to come from your domain, so the first ones usually arrive within a day or two. We email you when the first one does. A domain that sends very little email gets few reports. If nothing has arrived after a few days, check the record on the domain's setup page.
Someone else looks after our DNS. What do I send them?
The domain's setup page can email them the record with step-by-step instructions for their DNS provider, saying it's from you.
Getting to p=reject
When is it safe to move to quarantine or reject?
Each domain's summary judges this from up to 90 days of reports and says when the next step is safe, with the record to publish. We also email you once when a domain becomes ready.
One of our senders is failing. How do I fix it?
Open the sender on the domain's summary. It shows whether SPF, DKIM or both are failing, and what to add for that service. Most services need you to add their SPF include or switch on DKIM signing in their settings.
Can I avoid editing DNS at every step?
Yes. Let us host your DMARC record with one CNAME, and each step towards p=reject becomes a click on the domain's summary, with an undo.
Team and organizations
Who can do what?
Owners: everything, including changing roles and deleting the organization. Admins: adds and changes domains, and invites or removes people. Members: sees domains and reports, but can't change them. Clients: sees only the domains chosen for them, and their monthly report, but not the team.
How do I add someone to my team?
Owners and admins invite people from the Team page. The invite counts towards your plan's team members until it's accepted or revoked.
I look after email for clients. How should I set that up?
Either make an organization for each client, or keep their domains in one organization and invite each client with the client role, so they see only their own domains and monthly report.
Plans and billing
How do I change plan?
Owners and admins ask for a plan, paid monthly or yearly, from the Plan page. We confirm the change and send an invoice. Prices are in South African rand, excluding VAT.
What happens when we reach a limit?
Nothing is deleted. You can't add more domains or people until you remove one or change plan, and reports older than your plan's history are hidden until you move to a plan that keeps more.
Emails and your account
How do I get fewer, or different, emails?
Your emails lists everything we send you, for every organization and domain you're in, and lets you change each one. Every email also has a link to turn it off.
How do I change my name or password, or delete my account?
All three are on Your account.
